The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the world's largest organization serving the professional and business interests of attorneys who practice in the legal departments of corporations, associations, nonprofits and other private-sector organizations around the globe.
We are working with a Large Company (Southwest Florida) that has a need for a real estate attorney with extensive real estate knowledge particularly in entitlements, easements and permitting. Also, land acquisition experience would be very helpful. It is a hybrid role where you are handling both business and legal objectives.
The attorney would oversee the entitlements for all new acquisition projects and existing communities, to include land use, zoning, site plan, and plat approvals.
Assess areas of land and determine potential for land development
Responsible for running the management system as it relates to all entitlements, approvals and title matters.
Manage consultants, outside counsel, engineers and architects in the process of planning new residential development and obtaining all governmental approvals required.
Work with different division’s departments to coordinate approvals to be obtained for the development of areas.
Network with others to maintain market awareness; develop key contacts introductions to President to become a strong competitor in Division’s market area
Assist management in negotiating terms and specifics of purchase and sale agreements.
Must be detail-oriented and a problem-solver able to deal with complex situations
JD with extensive real estate experience with knowledge particularly in entitlements, easements, permitting and land use & zoning
