About the Role: Gore is seeking an attorney to work closely with its business groups and senior leaders to provide broad-based legal and professional support to its Medical Products Division (MPD) and its PharmBIO business, which is part of the Performance Solutions Division (PSD). This attorney may also support other Gore businesses as aligned with the attorney’s individual skills and experience. Practice areas include product development, clinical research, commercialization, distribution (direct and through dealers, distributors and agents), manufacturing, general transactions, advertising and promotional material review, licensing, and medical device and pharmaceutical related regulatory, quality and compliance matters.
It is a strong preference that this attorney be based in one of our MPD locations in Flagstaff or Phoenix, Arizona, but consideration will be given to a remote work situation for the right candidate. Regardless, owing to current pandemic conditions, Gore supports interim remote working arrangements.
Responsibilities:
Providing general legal counsel to MPD in support of the MPD General Counsel, and to PharmBIO in support of our PSD General Counsel, advising the businesses and functions with regard to relevant legal issues, including identification and mitigation of legal and business risks
Advising on regulatory and compliance issues related to medical device, medical component, pharmaceutical processing aid and drug delivery business, related products, and the conduct of business operations
Drafting/ reviewing, negotiating and advising on a variety of contracts for MPD and PharmBIO in support of the Commercial/Contracts Team (including provider sales, value-based and risk-sharing arrangements, sales to OEM manufacturers, joint development, product collaboration, distribution, and cross-divisional agreements)
Providing legal advice to the MPD and PharmBIO contract professionals on a wide variety of contracts (including clinical trials, sales, marketing, services, supplier, group purchasing organization, direct and indirect procurement, product distribution, consulting, HCP service, educational and research grants, image releases, and technology evaluation and non-disclosure agreements)
Collaborating with the MPD and PharmBIO contract managers to develop and revise templates for MPD and PharmBIO
Supporting the commercialization of new products and indications, reviewing web-based, digital, and traditional promotional and marketing collateral for MPD and PharmBIO
Developing and delivering internal training to targeted MPD and PharmBIO associates on relevant legal topics
Coordinating with in-house legal specialists, as well as outside counsel, to secure necessary expertise to ensure that the businesses’ needs are met
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Minimum of four years of relevant legal experience, which must include some in-house corporate experience
Recent in-depth experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostic or closely related industries, with knowledge of regulatory, compliance and commercial transactions (including sales distribution matters)
Must be responsive, collaborative and pro-active and be able to effectively multi-task and handle a variety of matters with competing priorities in a fast–paced environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and communicate with business associates, as well as collaborate with other members of the Global Legal Team (including Compliance and Data Privacy professionals)
Demonstrated ability to work across various groups both within our Global Legal Team and Gore’s various businesses
Admitted as a member in good standing of a US state bar
Willingness to travel up to 20% to various Gore Legal Team office locations in Delaware, Germany, Hong Kong and Japan
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working across regions of a global organization (foreign language skills a plus)
Experience in negotiating, drafting and legal support of agreements with outsourced vendors and service providers in regulated industries (e.g., validated component and accessory manufacturing, design input, etc.)
Knowledge of software and IT licenses and service agreements
Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid and state programs
