The International Game Technology PLC Legal Department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to serve in the newly created position of Associate General Counsel, Compliance/Data Privacy. This individual will lead the Legal Department support for regulatory and compliance matters, with a focus on data privacy, anti-corruption, global trade compliance, investigations and related compliance matters. The position will report to the Senior Vice President & General Counsel and will be located in Providence, RI.
Meet the company’s regulatory compliance legal support needs, collaborating with other members of the Legal Department, outside counsel, the Compliance Department and the business segments
Provide leadership for and manage the company’s data privacy compliance program, including process management, data protection impact assessments and data subject access requests
Provide substantive guidance on privacy issues facing the company, including GDPR advice, and related risk management advice across the company
Oversee and manage the company’s anti-corruption, international trade and related compliance programs
Lead compliance related investigations and report to executive management and the Audit Committee on investigation results
Work directly with the senior management across the business
Work in a fast-paced environment in collaboration with business partners, customers and other lawyers within the group
Identify legal risks, develop mitigation strategies and counsel internal clients with respect to legal risks and mitigation strategies
Manage a small team of subject matter experts on compliance related matters located in Providence, RI and one or more locations in Europe.
Manage outside counsel in support of compliance related matters
Proven ability to manage a team of legal professionals remotely and contribute successfully to cross-functional teams, including experience with international teams in a cross-cultural environment
Experience across compliance areas, including privacy, anti-corruption and global trade compliance matters
Customer-oriented interpersonal skills, excellent business judgment and a proven ability to excel working with multiple clients in a fast-paced environment
Must be team-oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a solution-oriented approach to legal issues
Self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex concepts and issues effectively with all levels of management
Ability to multi-task and work quickly and collaboratively to meet demanding time constraints
Strong written and oral communication skills
JD degree and admission to at least one state bar.
Minimum of ten years of relevant law firm or in-house experience.
Ability to travel frequently, including international travel.
