Often requested but rarely found--Dulles corridor office of multi-national government contractor seeks to identify a seasoned government contracts attorney to serve as Deputy General Counsel. Motivation for the hire is to (1) support increased client demand for services, and (2) provide a period of overlapping tenure with the current GC preceding his retirement in order to become familiar with the company, its products and services and the executive management team. Anticipated time period in role of DGC is up to two years.
Requirements of the Position:
A minimum of ten years of government contracts experience (i.e. FAR, DFARS) with significant FCPA, Bribery Act, Export Compliance and NCCS exposure
A minimum of three years of experience in a highly regarded (e.g. Chambers ranked) law firm’s government contracts department
Prior tenure in a corporate legal department providing support as an operational counsel to internal clients (i.e. possess the capacity to serve as a generalist and advise on a range of topics including, legal/regulatory compliance (25%), dispute resolution including litigation management (20%), contract review and drafting (20%), M&A work (15%), employment (10%), as well as other miscellaneous matters (10%)
