Overview: Thrive Capital seeks to hire its first Chief Compliance Officer to strategically develop, build, own and manage a best-in-class compliance function. The AGC & CCO will be responsible for leading and growing the firm’s compliance program broadly, as well as contributing to Thrive’s internal growth and development. This is an outstanding opportunity for an innovative, business-oriented, investment advisor regulatory lawyer to make a significant strategic impact on the compliance infrastructure of a sophisticated and unique venture capital firm.

Experience: 5+ years of experience (ideal range 7-15 yrs) in investment advisor compliance and regulatory matters, either as (a) in-house counsel at an investment advisor (preferably an RIA and preferably in the venture/PE space) OR (b) outside counsel (midlevel/senior associate or counsel) or a regulator, OR (c) a combination of the foregoing. Foundational training from an AmLaw 50 law firm preferred. The candidate must have excellent knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to investment advisors, proven project management and leadership skills, comfort handling responsibilities ranging from administrative to managerial, and strong written and verbal communication skills. J.D. and undergraduate degrees from top-tier schools.
