The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the world's largest organization serving the professional and business interests of attorneys who practice in the legal departments of corporations, associations, nonprofits and other private-sector organizations around the globe.
This role is primarily responsible for leading contracting for Turnitin’s assessment platform, and for partnering with our Alliances department to achieve and enforce effective partnership terms.
This position requires the ability to work, adapt, and evolve in a fast-paced environment, often working under tight deadlines, changing requirements, and with teams in multiple time zones. Dedication, quick thinking, good decision-making, and a high sense of urgency are critical traits for this role.
Work with busy, high-yield Alliances department to establish compliant and effective partnership agreements
Interact with internal Finance department to ensure the proper treatment of revenue
Draft contractual responses to Tenders/RFPs, including data privacy and risk assessment
Collaborate with Legal & Business Affairs colleagues to provide guidance to the Company on business policy matters, data privacy, contracts, and projects.
Travel when needed to meet key client stakeholders to help close contracts or resolve prospect issues
Where required, support the development of new trading territories regarding local regulations and commercial practice.
Work with Company’s insurance broker to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Keep up to date with legislative developments affecting the assessment platform.
Take the lead in ensuring the assessment platform meets regulatory compliance requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study
JD degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
Current member in good standing of a US state bar
7+ years’ legal experience with a focus on commercial contract management / negotiation experience in software licensing
Data Privacy/Data Transfer expertise
Strong analytical decision-making skills
