Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with Lurie Children’s, is devoted to the understanding, prevention, and investigation of pediatric illnesses and injuries. The Associate General Counsel will have primary responsibility for advising the Manne Research Institute and Lurie Children’s on wide-ranging issues relating to the medical center and academic settings related to research and intellectual property.
The successful candidate will have at least eight to ten (8-10) years of experience in an academic research institution, law firm, or corporate legal department handling a variety of applicable research and health care regulatory and intellectual property matters. In addition, the candidate should have experience in providing legal representation on general corporate, transactional, real estate, or other health care matters. Prior in-house experience preferred, but not required. Health care industry experience also preferred, but not required. Candidate should have knowledge of opportunities and challenges in research programs, agreements, and innovation. Additionally, the candidate should have experience supporting operations leaders and researchers in negotiating non-profit and industry research agreements and commercialization efforts.
