ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: A teammate in this position must have the ability to: Advise management on a full range of commercial legal issues, including, but not limited to, commercial negotiation strategy, legal risk management, and new product legal risk. Negotiate and draft purchase, distribution, and third-party service agreements. Provide interpretation and advice on regulatory matters. Effectively manage outside counsel in defending litigation matters and regulatory actions. Advise management on litigation strategy. Perform legal research, evaluate and assess legal risks involving the organization. Monitor developments in national, state and local laws, and educate senior management, merchandising and operations professionals on such developments. Oversee investigations of legal and regulatory matters and provide advice and counsel on handling such situations. Provide advice on operational policies and procedures. Create training materials and provide training on legal issues to management, merchandising and operations professionals. Develop strategic goals, and work with management to implement those goals. Accept and handle other matters assigned by the General Counsel or the attorney’s direct manager. |
