Fortune 500 corporation seeks a Privacy Compliance Manager-M&A for a long-term consultancy expected to last at least one year. The Privacy Compliance Manager-M&A will support the privacy compliance and integration of newly acquired parts of the business. The candidate will sit within and work closely with the Global Privacy Team and interact with the wider Legal / Ethics & Compliance team and coordinate with corporate functions such as Corporate Security and Human Resources on a regular basis. Hourly compensation is $60-$75.
The Privacy Compliance Manager-M&A will support the incorporation of the corporation’s privacy policies and best practices into the day-to-day operations of different parts of the business. As such, the candidate will collaborate closely with Privacy teammates, legal, and business leads to help build out and maintain an appropriate privacy compliance program. The candidate will be required to identify and drive remediation of privacy risk. As part of the Privacy Team, the candidate’s day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Managing the privacy program compliance within the applicable business areas consistent with standards and expectations of corporation’s Global Privacy Program
Implementing processes and practices to support data privacy compliance with applicable multi-jurisdictional privacy laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), HIPAA, GLBA, PCI-DSS, and other national, state, and sector-based data privacy laws and regulations
Coordinating with Legal and other functions to ensure review and negotiate data privacy terms and conditions in client and vendor contract relationships
Overseeing compliance processes of the acquired company, including records of processing and subject access requests
Maintaining the acquired corporation’s certifications under the U.S. FTC’s Privacy Shield program and facilitate compliance with applicable data transfer laws and regulations
Developing relationships within functional teams as a key point of contact
Responding to (and escalating as appropriate) data privacy incidents in conjunction with Corporate Security, Legal and other functions
Supporting the development of corporation’s Global Privacy Program to meet evolving global laws and regulations
Designing, developing, coordinating, and delivering compliance training programs
Developing and conducting privacy impact and risk assessments
Strong IT services business experience required
Minimum 5 years’ experience compliance management
Minimum 2 years’ experience direct responsibility for ensuring global privacy compliance
Ability to balance compliance/legal risks with commercial needs
Excellent communicator and able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of our organization and within our customers
Able to multitask with rapidly changing priorities and to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Self-starter and able to work independently
