The Role
Roku is seeking an experienced Legal Operations Manager to join its growing Legal team. You will help manage the Legal department’s budgeting and internal financial reporting, assist with onboarding of vendors and outside counsel, implement technology solutions and knowledge management tools, help to ensure that records management and other systems are implemented and are being appropriately utilized, and help build team strategy, structure and culture. The role also is key to improving the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal team by creating and improving processes, maintaining records, and coordinating communications between the Legal department and other cross-functional partners.
Job Responsibilities
Design and manage processes to positively impact the Legal team’s productivity and effectiveness (including finances, knowledge management, eDiscovery, and litigation support)
Work proactively with Finance, Planning & Analysis on Legal budget, accruals and forecasting
Develop and manage billing and legal billing guidelines
Manage all vendor relationships with Legal service and technology solutions providers
Partner with teams within Legal to increase productivity, including identifying process improvements and implementing technology solutions like e-billing and matter management
Develop and maintain an internal Legal intranet page and content
Partner with Learning and Development to facilitate company-wide training on Legal topics
Train the Legal team and the broader organization on legal processes and procedures (e.g. new hire on-boarding training, new software or process rollout)
Develop and maintain Legal forms, templates, processes and FAQs
Support the General Counsel with Legal team structure, strategy, and engagement
Help organize Legal team meetings, offsites, and learning and development programs
Experience and Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience working with large or mid-sized in-house legal departments
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
Experience implementing and developing Legal technology solutions and technical awareness to identify need, search for, and adapt to new technology solutions as needed
Prior experience in project planning and management is preferred but not required
Prior experience developing processes, templates, and FAQs
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Box and Ironclad preferred but not required
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, utilizing effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects for multiple stakeholders
Team-player with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional role
Excellent judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and highly team-oriented
Strong written and oral communication skills
