As Premier’s first General Counsel, you will collaborate closely with ownership and management on identifying exciting opportunities to create, incubate and grow new business ventures, as well as supporting execution of growth strategies for the current Premier companies.

The person we are seeking will have strong experience with structuring and documenting innovative start-up business arrangements, incentive compensation structures, ownership of data and other intellectual property issues, white labeling, blockchain, and syndication, as well as general corporate, leasing, and transactional matters.

As Premier’s General Counsel, you will have the excitement and challenge of leading the legal work for these start-ups along with the collaborative support of Signature’s full-service Law Department, including subject matter experts in healthcare law. As Premier’s first General Counsel, you will work closely with Premier’s CEO and be accountable for all legal issues for those companies, while as a direct report to Signature’s Chief Legal Officer you will also support transactional legal work for Signature. This position will have regular interaction with the Board and with senior management, requiring solid judgment and excellent communication skills.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
Minimum of seven years’ experience as a creative, ethical corporate attorney handling business formation, corporate structure and governance, transactions, leases, intellectual property and data ownership and protection, licensing, white label arrangements, syndications, and the like.
Excellent communication skills in working with all levels of employees, management, board, and ownership.
Customer service orientation with strong work ethic and ability to thrive under pressure.
Highest level of professionalism and integrity.
Admitted to KY Bar or eligible for KY Bar limited certificate of admission as in-house counsel.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate, and simultaneously maintain multiple matters with a high level of quality and productivity.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise good judgment and to select and follow appropriate courses of action.
Approachable, flexible, and adaptive to change.
Collaborative mind set and the ability and willingness to train and mentor others.
Healthcare law experience is not required, and neither is relocation to our Louisville, Kentucky headquarters, as we recognized that the best talent likely is geographically diverse, and that great ideas and the energy to make them reality are not limited to the healthcare sector.
