Overview: Albireo Pharma, Inc. (“Albireo”) is seeking to fill the role of Senior Corporate Counsel (“Counsel”). The Counsel will collaborate closely with the Albireo legal and business teams, serving as a trusted business partner and problem-solver on a wide range of corporate and compliance matters, with a particular focus on handling commercial agreements and corporate transactions. The Counsel will manage the contracts manager and also support the global legal team in a variety of areas, including compliance, business development, advertising and promotional review, market access and commercialization, employment law, securities, and corporate governance.
Company: Passionate about its mission, Albireo is a growing, public, clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel bile acid modulators to treat orphan pediatric liver diseases and other adult liver diseases and disorders. Albireo’s lead product candidate, odevixibat, met both primary endpoints in its Phase 3 trial, and the company has announced its intention to apply for approval in the US and EU by early 2021 with a launch in the second half of 2021 if approved. Albireo is headquartered in Boston, MA (Financial District), with its key operating subsidiary in Sweden. Experience: The successful candidate will hold a J.D. and 5-10 years of broad-based transactional legal experience advising life science companies (ideally biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical clients) and negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial and corporate agreements. Major law firm and in-house experience preferred, but law firm candidates will be considered.
Compensation: A competitive compensation package, including base salary, bonus, and equity will be offered for this position consistent with the candidate’s level of experience.
Relocation: Local candidates are strongly preferred. Relocation assistance is generally not available for this role.
