Overview: Corcept Therapeutics seeks an experienced attorney to lead and grow its Intellectual Property function. The Vice President of Intellectual Property will oversee procurement of Corcept’s intellectual property, including patents, trademarks and trade secrets. With the Executive Team, the VP of IP will devise strategies to increase the value of Corcept’s commercial and clinical assets and will implement procedures for identifying inventive ideas, evaluating their potential value and securing legal protection for them. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will have a background in life sciences, strong intellectual curiosity, and leadership experience. This position will be an integral part of Corcept’s collaborative and energetic legal team and will have one attorney report.
Relocation: Local candidates strongly preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of IP experience, with a strong understanding of patent prosecution and patent portfolio management. Prior experience in a law firm, as well as in-house in the life sciences industry are preferred.
Bar: JD and membership in good standing in at least one state bar. Registration with the USPTO is required.
