The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the world's largest organization serving the professional and business interests of attorneys who practice in the legal departments of corporations, associations, nonprofits and other private-sector organizations around the globe.
In this challenging and dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to provide litigation services to the Life & Retirement business. You will work with a team of lawyers and other professionals who are responsible for litigation support of the Life & Retirement lines of business.
This position reports directly to the Assistant General Counsel, Litigation, within the AIG Life & Retirement business unit.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience at a law firm. The candidate’s responsibilities will include managing a litigation docket consisting of claims and general litigation matters, providing legal advice and guidance to business partners, preparing and maintaining accurate and complete reports and schedules for litigation matters, and providing legal support and assistance as needed to track, analyze and report on legislative and regulatory developments, as well as industry trends that may impact business units.
Strong academic background and B.S./B.A. and J.D.;
Current admission to practice law in Texas;
5+ years of experience in commercial litigation with insurance coverage and bad faith experience preferred;
Experience in dealing with insurance regulators and regulations a plus; and
In-house experience useful but not required.
