The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the world's largest organization serving the professional and business interests of attorneys who practice in the legal departments of corporations, associations, nonprofits and other private-sector organizations around the globe.
The individual in this position will support the mission of the Legal and Compliance departments and FHLBank Management by providing accurate and timely legal and compliance advice, assistance and direction, performing independent research, preparing compliance-oriented legal memoranda, and reviewing or drafting high quality documentation concerning a wide range of legal and compliance matters.
A minimum of three to five years of corporate legal experience.
Juris Doctorate degree is required.
Must be admitted to the Bar of any state. If not admitted in Kansas, must be admitted to the Kansas Bar within one year of employment and maintain good standing in Kansas.
Prior experience supporting a company-wide compliance function is highly preferred.
Excellent legal research and drafting skills, including Westlaw legal research.
Ability to identify and analyze legal and compliance issues and develop solutions.
Proficient use of computer programs and databases, including MS Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Internet Explorer, and various FHLBank databases.
Ability to motivate and persuade others through both written and oral communications.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Ability to operate all types of office equipment including computer, copy machine, scanner and telephone.
Ability to work hours needed to meet the demands of the job.
