Illinois Tool Works (“ITW”) has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for an Assistant General Counsel, Compliance to be located at headquarters in Glenview, IL. Founded in 1912, ITW (NYSE:ITW) is a global industrial company centered on a differentiated and proprietary business model with revenues of $14.1B in 2019.
The Assistant General Counsel, Compliance will work under the direction of the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel to help implement and administer ITW’s Compliance Program, including its policies and practices, on a global level, focusing on the “80” compliance areas of data privacy, anti-corruption, and anti-trust, consistent with: a) ITW Legal Department’s objectives to provide pragmatic and business-oriented legal support to ITW’s operating segments; b) ITW’s 80/20, decentralized, entrepreneurial business model; and c) ITW’s Culture and Values of Integrity, Respect, Trust, Shared Risk and Simplicity. The successful candidate will have at least ten (10) years of legal experience with a corporation and law firm providing compliance advice across a broad range of business practices, including anti-corruption, data privacy, anti-trust and competition. Experience conducting cross-border investigations is a plus. This role also supports legal training, the helpline reporting system, corporate trade compliance, and the cyber security team, partnering closely with other corporate functions (such as Audit, HR and IT) and with other global attorneys and professionals to provide legal advice and counsel for a variety of global ethics and compliance matters. In-house experience at a global company is preferred.
