Our company is hiring Corporate Counsel. The ideal candidate will be a key member responsible for providing leadership and guidance on regulation applicable to our business.
The ideal candidate will:
Develop and implements the compliance plans consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives. Serves as a liaison between Healthcare System and regulatory agencies.
Quickly digest and analyze a wide range of complex legal matters in both litigation and transactional law, such as contracts, intellectual property (e.g. patents), labor, corporate, SEC, FDA, and general business disputes.
Participate in the compliance and audit risk assessment process with leadership and prioritizes efforts to assess and mitigate risk within the organization.
Educate leaders and staff on compliance.
Monitor compliance with state and federal laws to identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
Partner with various teams to provide strategic and legal guidance on a range of regulatory matters, including, HIPAA/state privacy law; the FTC Act and similar state consumer protection and advertising laws; ERISA; and MHPAEA. Experience with pharmaceutical and/or out-of-network rules is a plus!
Provide thought leadership on regulatory and industry developments, including the proactive identification and assessment of regulatory risks and the ongoing monitoring and tracking of relevant regulatory updates.
Analyze and distill complex legal issues into easily understandable content for dissemination.
Provide legal advice on new and existing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal law.
Partner and work collaboratively with federal and state regulators and government agencies.
Work with minimal supervision on multiple, simultaneous and diverse assignments while adhering to deadlines and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
U.S Citizenship status
The preferred candidate will have 7-10 years of experience preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
Litigation and compliance background is a plus as is multi-state admitting privileges.
Must be licensed to practice law as a licensed attorney or as licensed in-house counsel.
