Our client is a highly acquisitive life sciences, bio-technology, pharma and diagnostics servicing company located in the Boston, Mass. area, which is looking to hire a strong public Mergers & Acquisitions attorney to join its general counsel’s office. This Senior Director / Assoc. General Counsel - M&A will have a target range of 7 – 12 years of work experience, top educational credentials, and will have trained at a top-tier law firm in its M&A department. In-house experience at a highly regulated, complex and matrixed, life sciences or similar type company is also strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include advice and support on a wide and diverse range of large M&A matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, investments and J.V.’s. The successful candidate will support the Company’s Corporate Development and Strategy Team on global M&A opportunities, liaise with internal functional specialists as well as manage outside counsel and work with Company advisors and investment banks. Strong negotiation and influencing skills and an enthusiastic self-starter. A solution oriented mindset and a desire to make the company’s M&A practice better by developing processes to help guide large teams engaged in complex and exciting work. Excellent work-ethic, presentation, communication and team-work skills are required.
This person will report into the Chief M&A Counsel for the Company. The Company offers a strong compensation package, including a base salary and annual bonus, potential LTI, and excellent benefits.
