JOB SUMMARY A primary focus of Dir, Legal – Sales and Operations position is representing the Spectrum Community Solutions MDU (multiple dwelling unit) regional and national sales groups with legal support that contributes to the company’s bottom line in a creative way across many sales markets. This position will work with regional and national sales leaders in ensuring consistent high volume business deals related to contract development including reviewing RFP responses as needed. This role will provide legal advice related to all sales support and field operations including access and easement issues but main focus will be on streamlining and developing different approaches to closing national template deals.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently negotiate, resolve, and enhance the customer contract sales experience through updated templates across many sales markets
Advise legal and sales management on legal and business related issues to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while still closing high volume sales arrangements
Build a collaborative relationship with sales and operations teams to develop solutions to contract negotiations and streamlines the process as needed
Gather relevant related information and drafts, negotiates, and prepares legal contracts supporting regional and national sales teams, and regional field operations team on a high volume basis.
Research legal principles and precedents related to federal and state law and municipal ordinances affecting all legal support including sales contracts
Negotiate and draft business agreements. Meet, train and mentor business clients to improve and enhance the legal collaborative relationships
Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to all legal support for sales and field operations
Coordinate and manage outside counsel as needed
Keep informed of industry-specific regulations and ensures that appropriate risk management strategies are in place
Perform other duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Proficiency with Word and Red-lining documents/contracts Ability to close sales deals and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Education Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school Admission to State Bar in which Attorney practices
