Position Overview: This position is responsible for providing legal support to The Johns Hopkins Health System Corporation’s Practice Group Leader & Chief Legal Counsel – Managed Care and Population Health. Primary responsibilities will include: (i) providing legal advice in connection with all Johns Hopkins HealthCare (“JHHC”) managed care offerings and all areas of JHHC’s business, (ii) negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide variety of managed care agreements, and (iii) providing other legal services as needed in support of JHHC’s business operations.
Experience: At least ten (10) years of legal experience in general healthcare law, with at least three (3+) years of experience specific to the area of managed care and health plan operations. Knowledge of federal, state and local statues and regulations which affect corporate and managed care operation is essential for this role. Reviewing, drafting, and advising on managed care agreements and contracts is a central function of this role. The individual will also be expected to support other health plan functions such as compliance, utilization management, finance, vendor management, claims, and appeals. Knowledge in the areas of managed care arrangements and laws and regulations applicable to health insurance products is essential.
Compensation: Competitive base and bonus commensurate with experience.
Location: Glen Burnie, MD with periodic travel to the main JHHC office in Hanover, MD and the JHHS campus in Baltimore, MD.
