Hollister’s Mission is to make life more rewarding and dignified for people who use its products and services. Hollister remains singularly focused on the Immutable Principles and values on which it was founded in 1921 - Stewardship, Service, Integrity and Dignity of the Person. These values form a strong foundation and an enduring legacy, as Hollister continues to extend its global reach and develop new, innovative products and services, remaining focused on meeting the healthcare needs of people throughout the global community.
The employee-owned nature of Hollister provides for a values-oriented process in the development of long-term operational goals. In addition, goals are set with input by those who are closest to the business; the employee owners, as opposed to public shareholders.
Further, Hollister’s long history of innovation, including many “firsts” in its markets, have provided it with differentiated products to maintain itself as a market leader in the markets it has served over the years. Crain’s has recognized Hollister as one of the most innovative companies in the Chicago area in recent years, including a ranking as the fifth most innovative company in October 2019.

In addition to the preceding qualifications, the successful candidate must demonstrate both an intellectual understanding of and emotional belief (through his or her life’s experience) in Hollister’s Immutable Principles, which are as follows:
We have been entrusted with an independent and employee-owned company. As stewards of that trust, we are guided by the policies and principles of our founder, John Dickinson Schneider, to ensure that Hollister continues in perpetuity as independent and employee-owned, and that, as the company grows and prospers, it remains financially strong. We make decisions based on the long-term best interests of the company, and live by John Dickinson Schneider’s motto “Only first class is good enough.”
We serve those who use our products and services, our other customers, each other, and our communities, all with humility, compassion and perseverance.
Integrity is the heart of how we do business. At Hollister, the ethical way is the only way. We are open and truthful, treat others justly, and do the right thing even when it is difficult.
Dignity of the Person
Our employees, indeed all people, have dignity and intrinsic value independent of the work they do. Hollister treats its associates, and we treat each other, with respect.
