The Company seeks an Assistant General Counsel for Staffing to assist in the management and resolution of legal matters affecting Maxim Healthcare Staffing Services. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, an adaptive problem solver, function in a fast-paced environment and able to assess risk to thoughtfully advise Company leadership.
Position Overview: The Assistant General Counsel for Staffing will be the primary attorney assisting in the management and resolution of legal matters affecting Maxim Healthcare’s staffing business unit. This position is responsible for providing legal advice, leadership, and contributing to the fulfillment of the strategic vision and mission of Staffing Services. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and working closely with other members of the legal department, this attorney will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and provide day-to-day advice to employees in the corporate office and field personnel. The Assistant General Counsel for Staffing will provide business and legal advice on contracts, regulatory matters, licensing, disputes and litigation, among other things.
Experience: The successful candidate will have a J.D. and three to five years substantive experience in providing concise and timely legal advice to a company with multiple office locations. Areas of responsibility will vary, but the successful candidate should have experience in the front-line investigation of a broad range of employee and customer-related concerns, and in providing timely, practical, and legally appropriate advice and solutions to field and headquarters personnel. Experience with commercial agreements and/or exposure to healthcare or the staffing industry is highly desirable.
Compensation: Competitive base and bonus commensurate with experience.
