Major, Lindsey & Africa has been engaged on an exclusive basis by Baptist Health to identify a Chief Compliance Officer to work at their headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1955, Baptist Health is North Florida’s largest and most comprehensive healthcare system. It has five hospitals, four freestanding emergency centers, a robust ambulatory presence inclusive of imaging, urgent care and convenient care; and the area's most comprehensive network of primary and specialty care providers.
Reporting administratively to Baptist Health’s SVP & General Counsel, but with direct access to the CEO and Board of Directors, the Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for leading, managing and coordinating Baptist Health’s corporate compliance, internal audit and regulatory programs. The candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of and enterprise- wide risk program as well as overseeing audit for the company.
The successful candidate will have at least ten (10) years of progressive healthcare compliance experience, including in the regulatory and internal audit space, and a minimum of five (5) years in a senior leadership and management role. The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated knowledge of healthcare compliance program elements, state and federal laws, regulations and best practices regarding healthcare compliance. Candidates should also have experience overseeing internal audit and investigating audit results. Compliance experience with a healthcare provider is required. An understanding of healthcare coding and reimbursement systems is also required. The right candidate will have an advanced degree; a Juris Doctor is preferred. Compliance and/or internal audit certifications are a plus.
