Corporate Generalist, General Commercial/Contracts
A unique opportunity to join and contribute to a rapidly growing fintech company specializing in data analytics.
Reporting directly to the CFO and CEO, the VP Legal will offer support to the business on a variety of matters including, but not limited to: negotiating and advising on commercial contracts, corporate finance, procurement with global banks, data privacy, employment matters and news media-related issues.
Candidates are sought with a solid commercial background, ideally with previous experience in contract negotiations, data privacy, IP and technology. This is an exciting role in a dynamic global organisation that will suit a dedicated and driven individual.
Reviewing and negotiating complex commercial and corporate matters and optimizing external counsel.
Lead customer procurement and contract drafting discussions on behalf of the Sales team.
Provide Executive team with legal guidance across many subject areas including privacy, intellectual property, platform/publisher liability, consumer protection laws, data protection laws and regulations, etc.
Draft and negotiate a wide variety of agreements related to corporate finance, vendor supplier relationships, data privacy, procurement, employment, labour and insurance.
Minimum 5 years law firm / in-house experience, preferably with experience handling corporate and commercial transactions and interacting with senior executives.
Excellent legal and business judgment, strategic thinking, and ability to manage multiple matters, with a willingness and curiosity to learn areas outside of expertise.
Detail-oriented and organized leader, with unrivaled ethics, integrity, and ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Telecommuting is allowed.
