Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. (“Spectrum Brands” or the “Company”) has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a Senior Regulatory Counsel to be located at the Company’s corporate office in Earth City, Missouri (outside St. Louis) or its worldwide headquarters in Middleton, Wisconsin (outside Madison).
This position requires an undergraduate degree from a well-known university/college combined with a J.D. from a highly respected law school, membership in good standing in one or more U.S. states, including the ability to practice law in Missouri or Wisconsin, and at least 10-15 years of legal experience, including preferably a mix of law firm training and in-house practice at a consumer goods company with multinational operations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the following substantive areas: FDA requirements relating to pet food and pet care products; EPA requirements relating to insecticides, pesticides, and insect/pest repellents; CPSC requirements relating to home and personal care appliances and home hardware products; and state and international laws and regulations associated with the above product categories, in particular UK and EU regimes.
The Senior Regulatory Counsel will advise stakeholders across the Company on all relevant legal regulatory and compliance matters. In addition to the U.S. scope of responsibility, the Senior Regulatory Counsel will interface with outside counsel and local teams from each Company Business Unit in its international markets to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements for all Spectrum Brands products sold globally.
