1ST SHIFT (United States of America)
Tyson Foods is seeking a Senior Counsel to primarily support its Executive Rewards and Employee Benefits teams. The position will be based at our World Headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas, and will report to the Associate General Counsel. The ideal candidate will possess a juris doctorate and an active license to practice law in a U.S. state plus a minimum of eight years of experience in a law firm or corporate law setting handling executive compensation and employee benefits issues, preferably for large public company clients. The Senior Counsel role will be responsible for researching, evaluating and advising with respect to the design, implementation and administration of all manner of employee benefit plans, including stock, incentive, retirement, and health and welfare. Ancillary duties include drafting board resolutions, plans and plan amendments; due diligence in M&A transactions; advising management on the company’s pension plans; and monitoring statutory and case law developments.

Education: Law degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
Experience: 8-12 years of legal experience required. Candidate must have benefits law and regulatory experience. A combination of in- house and private practice experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Special Skills: A team player who can effectively communicate with and respond to clients in a timely manner. Must be able to work independently with outside counsel. Must exercise good judgment in all tasks.
Supervisory: Manage outside counsel.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
