Candidates will possess the following:
10 - 15 years of experience in commercial and regulatory matters within an in-house institution and/or law firm setting
Experience negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial and technology transactions – specifically SaaS (software-as-a-service) licensing and distribution agreements, cloud computing, hosting, hardware purchase and sale, and various other IT related agreements
Ability to work onsite in Mississauga and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
The responsibilities for this role will include:
Provide legal counsel on diverse contract matters affecting day-to-day business operations; advising and resolving legal matters within corporate legal policies.
Reviews, drafts and negotiates various corporate contracts, such as master services, subcontractor, nondisclosure, marketing, distributor, reseller, purchasing, consulting and event agreements.
Assists on matters related to patent, trademark, and other intellectual property matters.
Supervise a legal team of lawyers, paralegals and support personnel; Liaise and coordinate relationships with outside counsel.
Counsel management leaders, develop best practices, policies and procedures.
