JOB SUMMARY Must be able to work effectively, often under pressure, in a fun but fast-paced environment supporting a sales team based in New York City, NY. A primary focus of the position will be representation of the Spectrum Community Solutions (multiple dwelling unit (MDU)) regional and national sales groups with legal support that contributes to the company’s bottom line. In this capacity, will work with an exceptional regional sales team in ensuring consistent high volume business deals related to contract development including reviewing RFP responses. Provides legal advice related to all sales support and field operations including access and easement issues. Utilize Salesforce and contract tools for all required redlines and negotiations. Meet with the clients daily by phone rand in person as needed to ensure consistent terms and conditions for legal support of sales, field operations and operations groups, understand and apply state and federal laws as needed in supporting an exciting communications company. Excellent negotiation, written and advocacy skills required.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all legal support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer contract sales experience.
Advises legal and sales management on relevant legal matters and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Builds a cooperative relationship with sales and operations teams to develop solutions to problems presented.
Gathers relevant related information and drafts, negotiates, and prepares legal contracts supporting regional and national sales teams, and regional field operations team on a high volume basis.
Researches legal principles and precedents related to federal and state law and municipal ordinances affecting all legal support including sales contracts.
Negotiates and drafts business agreements. Meets, trains and mentors business clients to improve and enhance the legal collaborative relationships.
Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations related to all legal support for sales and field operations.. Coordinates and manages outside counsel as needed.
Keeps informed of industry-specific regulations and ensures that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
Education Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school Admission to State Bar in which Attorney practices
Related Work Experience 5+ years experience in general business legal issues in the cable or technology industries 5+ years experience with contract negotiation 5+ Corporate in-house experience
