We are looking to hire a seasoned Internationally savvy commercial /corporate attorney to facilitate our growth through reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex agreements. You will be a business partner with our internal departments to develop new policies and procedures and manage legal risk to ensure compliance with Lutron's high standards. As we expand our offerings, your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact.
Responsibilities: • Lead an International internal and external team of legal professionals in their handling of commercial matters on a global basis and in their timely review, revision, and negotiation of various contracts (focused on Asia & Latin America). • Legal counseling to the organization on a broad spectrum of commercial and contractual matters - Must leverage legal expertise and business expertise to provide practical business and legal advice to various business partners, including Lutron’s senior management • Analysis of complex issues/concepts in legal transactions, especially the drafting, and negotiation of commercial agreements • Manage outside legal work so that it is timely and cost effective - Must work creatively with outside counsel on budgetary issues to minimize costs and resolve issues effectively • Identify, develop, and implement business process improvements that will enhance the delivery of legal services within our organization • Represent the company’s legal function in a variety of internal and external committees • Serve as Legal Advisor in the negotiation and settlement of business disputes to avoid litigation and protect Lutron's business

EXPERIENCE: 12-15 years of legal experience Strongly prefer a combination of large law firm and in-house experience Must have some experience working abroad in Asia 8+ years of in-house legal experience with a Global Manufacturing Company 5+ years experience leading an in-house commercial legal function Experience managing and developing internal and external legal teams Demonstrated success developing an organization and managing change Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, including licensing and technology related agreements Demonstrated success providing strategic counseling to senior business people Experience working in a matrixed organization and developing cross functional working relationships
QUALIFICATIONS: J.D. from a Top Tier Law School Bar Admission in PA or capability to obtain PA Bar Admission within 12 months Fluent in English and one of the Asian Languages ie., Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese, etc. Understands Asian Culture and Business Strong business acumen and ongoing commitment to partnering with the business Strong communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to clearly and concisely convey complex concepts to a broad range of business professionals with no specific legal expertise Superior analytical ability Must be able to effectively evaluate and summarize complex contractual terms and conditions Keen sense of ownership Collaborative working style
