Position Overview: Ciena seeks an experienced Corporate Counsel to provide advice and support on a wide range of legal and business matters relating to the strategy and operations of Ciena’s Supply Chain & Procurement organization and internal corporate functions. The attorney will have a multi-faceted role spanning support for all aspects including supply chain, procurement (direct and indirect), manufacturing, R&D and operations.
Experience: The successful candidate will have 3-8+ years of experience with a law firm and/or a corporate legal department supporting global technology business’ supply chain function, including hardware development, technology and manufacturing issues, and cross-border, multi-tier supply chain models. Significant experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial and technology agreements is required. Candidates must be a member in good standing of at least one state bar association.
Compensation: Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
Location: The Corporate Counsel can telecommute/work remotely on a full-time basis in the Eastern or Central time zones in the United States or Canada. This individual would be expected to travel to attend periodic business meetings (e.g., quarterly business reviews). Candidates local to Hanover, MD (at Baltimore-Washington region) and interested in non-remote positions would have the option of working out of Ciena’s local office in that location.
Telecommuting is allowed.
