Act as lead counsel for a portfolio of multi-million-dollar contracts with commercial partners.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead counsel negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts with suppliers providing satellite components and manufacturing equipment (currently, we have approx. 50 major suppliers with an average contract value of approx. $15M, spread out across North America, Europe and, increasingly, beyond).
Manage portfolio of supplier-generated IP, including working with external IP counsel on patent filings.
Negotiate and manage various other US law contracts.
Provide support as needed to US-based General Counsel for various legal matters (litigation, etc.).
Operate in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with internal clients and counterparties around the world.
Independently respond to internal clients and take ownership of contracts, seeing them from inception through negotiation, execution and ongoing enforcement/management with minimal oversight.
Report directly to General Counsel.
JD from leading law school.
5-7 years’ BigLaw corporate department experience preferred.
Experience with aerospace industry preferred.
Experience with EAR and ITAR preferred.
Working knowledge of French is a benefit but not required.

Position will be based in our new, state-of-the-art facility located next to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida (Merritt Island). We will cover relocation as needed.
Up to 40-50% of time on travel, including:
Up to 1 week per month in our facility in Toulouse, France.
Additional travel to suppliers’ facilities in the US and abroad.
