The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority was created by an interstate compact in 1967 to plan, develop, build, finance, and operate a balanced regional transportation system in the national capital area. Today, Metrorail serves 91 stations over 117 miles of track. Metrobus serves the nation's capital 24 hours a day, seven days a week with a fleet of more than 1,500 buses. Metrorail and Metrobus serve a population of approximately four million within a 1,500-square mile jurisdiction consisting of the District of Columbia, the suburban counties of Montgomery and Prince George’s and the Northern Virginia counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, and Falls Church. The Associate Counsel position is located in the Office of General Counsel. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Authority in responding to Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience responding to FOIA and Privacy Act requests and superior skill in handling and managing a high volume of such requests.
