Better requires process discipline and governance
Reporting to the Vice President and Head of Technology, IP, Procurement & Real Estate, you will provide business-savvy advice and support for the General Counsel, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer, and their teams, regarding cybersecurity and emerging information technology issues, threats and opportunities.
From your base in our global headquarters office in Denver you will take the lead within the General Counsel’s Office on supporting Western Union’s comprehensive cybersecurity program.Your day-to-day duties might include developing cybersecurity policies, assessments, and reports; assessing and refining cybersecurity controls, governance frameworks, and incident response processes; and liaising with regulators on new initiatives and compliance issues.You will closely interface with our privacy and cybersecurity teams to ensure enterprise-wide awareness and incorporation of sound security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles.
You will also serve as a trusted partner in connection with the development of products, platforms, services and other strategic technology initiatives. In this role, you will be a key interface between tech, business, and legal functions, helping ensure quality customer experience and compliance with global regulations.
For such a detail-driven role, you’ll have real hands-on experience with information security governance and technology issues and a demonstrated background in cybersecurity standards, frameworks, assessments, and certifications such as NIST, SOC, and PCI-DSS.You will preferably hold Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited school of law and be admitted to at least one U.S. state bar.A big plus will be if you hold CISSP certification.You will really shine if you have some knowledge of and interest in software intellectual property. You will have strong oral and written communication skills tailored for the client as well as willingness to question the status quo and advocate for necessary change to improve internal processes. It will be great if you also have experience working in international settings and functioning in diverse cultures.
