3M Company (“3M”) has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for an Associate General Counsel – Environmental, Health, and Safety. Founded in Minnesota in 1902, the multi-technology corporation 3M (NYSE: MMM) is one of the world’s most innovative companies. 3M has 93,000 employees in 200 countries and achieved 2018 sales if approximately $33 billion. 3M is seeking an Associate General Counsel – EHS to provide legal counsel and guidance on the wide variety of EHS legal issues that arise from the operations of a large, complex, geographically-dispersed, and technology-driven manufacturing organization. This person also will be responsible for assessing, recruiting, training, managing and developing 3M’s global team of EHS legal professionals.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of legal experience and subject matter expertise in environmental, health, and safety laws in the U.S. and abroad. Strong law firm training and/or prior in-house experience strongly preferred. Prior government experience or interactions will be an advantage. Strong leadership and managerial skills required.
