Bliss Lawyers is seeking a privacy attorney with at least eight years of experience working in a top law firm and/or in-house legal department to work in the NYC office of a large media company. In-depth knowledge and understanding of privacy laws, including U.S. privacy law, European data protection law, data transfer law, privacy laws as they relate to cybersecurity, and the use of monitoring tools, is required. The lawyer hired for this role will be responsible for providing privacy legal advice (both in the U.S. and abroad) and work with the Privacy Officer to implement privacy policies and processes for the Company and certain of its subsidiaries, including: counseling company representatives at multiple locations on privacy compliance; providing privacy input on business projects and initiatives; advising on customer, vendor, and employee privacy issues; and, managing privacy legal compliance efforts, including drafting and revising data transfer agreements, data protection notices, website privacy policies and related procedures, and reviewing Data Protection Authority filings. Admission to the New York Bar is required. This is a full-time, temporary role, that is expected to last about three months and may extend. Interviews will begin immediately and the position will start as soon as a qualified candidate is identified.
