Fortune 50 Company in Northern New Jersey is seeking a technically adept and business-minded attorney with technology and product development experience, who has a deep capacity and curiosity for learning new technologies and areas of law.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Providing line-of-business legal support and practical, actionable guidance for clients responsible for the development, deployment, security, and maintenance of information technology and data architecture, infrastructure, inventory, applications, systems, platforms, portals, products, and services.
Advising on subject matter areas including: open source software, cybersecurity, data privacy, DevSecOps, public/private cloud, business process outsourcing, intellectual property ownership, software development lifecycle, digital transformation, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence/machine learning, UI/UX, data governance, and emerging technologies.
Working collaboratively and effectively with colleagues and clients across the company to drive technology thought leadership, technology transformation, and digital workplace evolution.
JD degree and five or more years of experience in-house at a technology company or in private practice handling transactions or litigation relating to technology and software development is required. A B.S. in electrical, computer, software or other engineering, or computer science, or B.A. or B.S. degree with extensive technology and software experience and fluency is a plus. Any experience with cyber security and data breach laws, rules, and standards (including NIST standards and GDPR compliance), is a plus.
