Fast-paced e-commerce company seeks a well-rounded attorney to join its growing legal department. The right candidate will have proficiency in handling a wide range of IP (including technology, software and design patents), Regulatory, Advertising and Privacy issues and willingness to expand into new substantive areas to match the growing business needs. This position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Dania Beach, FL.
What you'll do:
Work with our Associate and Assistant General Counsels to support a variety of teams including Private Label, Information Technology, Marketing, Media, Digital, and E-Commerce, and Information.
Manage Intellectual Property portfolio (including patent and trademark) for Private Label and IT Teams, including leading the prosecution, enforcement and litigation matters.
Counsel on product advertising and regulatory matters for the Private Label and Marketing Teams; advise on FDA/AAFCO food labelling requirements, FTC general advertising law.
Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including intellectual property licensing and media, IT, SAAS, sponsorship and marketing agreements.
Assist with data privacy workstreams, including the CCPA.
Potential involvement in other areas as needed.
Being a team player who is willing to take on a variety of tasks.
JD with exceptional academic credentials from a top-tier national law school.
6-9 years of experience at a top law firm and/or in-house.
Admission to the USPTO is preferred with a computer science, software or electrical engineering background.
Member in good standing with the Florida bar or eligible to attain Florida in-house counsel exemption.
Employ a practical, business-oriented approach to solving problems.
Navigate competing priorities and deliver results within agreed time limits.
Be a self-starter; ready to assume significant responsibility in a small, fast-paced legal department.
Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
