Compliance and Export Control Specialist - Americas
We are currently seeking a motivated professional to work alongside a dynamic leadership team in our Americas headquarters in the Atlanta metro area. Reporting to the General Counsel, Americas in Duluth, GA, as a Compliance and Export Control Specialist, this individual will support the Legal, Risk and Compliance (LRC) team on insurance, litigation, compliance, and administrative matters and advise the business on export compliance. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience with an international company providing services in a fast paced, complex organizational structure. Must have an engaged, roll-up-your-sleeves approach, with the ability to work closely with internal clients to ensure policy compliance while business needs are met.
The broad role will support LRC team members and initiatives for a wide range of matters faced by an international company, as well as providing specific supervision of insurance and export control matters in the Americas.
Litigation: Organize documentation for litigation and subpoenas, including litigation holds, document productions, and tracking
Corporate Housekeeping: Maintain corporate governance for entities in the Americas, draft resolutions/board minutes, review and update company policies and procedures
Administer the company’s insurance programs in the Americas
Investigate and process claims
Gather and analyze data for renewals and new policies
Work with broker and HQ to obtain certificates of insurance
Conduct training on insurance-related matters
Legal Documentation: Mark up NDAs, templates, other documentation
General Departmental Matters: Support budgeting, invoicing, and corporate records retention and maintenance
Special Projects: Work on committees and special projects to help drive strategic corporate initiatives, such as software roll-outs, M&A, conduct due diligence
Conduct export screening, ensuring proper compliance for export transactions and classification of products, equipment, software and technology including ECCN, Schedule B, EARRE
Research, analyze, and interpret US and non-US international trade regulations and laws, including EAR, OFAC and Customs and communicate requirements/changes to management and appropriate entities
Advise and support internal teams/departments on export compliance matters in accordance with US export regulations and the company’s export policy
Assist global compliance team in documenting, maintaining and executing training materials, policies and procedures
Audit export program for compliance

We are looking for a Barco employee who has:
A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in international trade compliance (export)
Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments regarding the interpretation and application of US export regulations
Team player and service-minded
SAP/GTS experience strongly preferred
Excellent judgment and decision making based on clear understanding of technical, regulatory and business requirements
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and effectively balancing priorities to meet deadlines
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Travel, including international, up to 10%
