Major, Lindsey & Africa has been retained on an exclusive basis to conduct an Assistant General Counsel search for a global engineering group to be based in its Simi Valley, California headquarters. Our client, Meggitt-USA, Inc. specializes in extreme environment products and smart sub-systems for aerospace, defense and energy markets, employing over 11,000 people across manufacturing facilities in Asia, Europe, North America, with regional bases in India and the Middle East.
The Assistant General Counsel will report to the General Counsel of Meggitt-USA, Inc. and will not only be responsible for drafting, negotiating and approving a myriad of contracts and subcontracts on U.S. Government programs with government agencies and other defense contractors; s/he will also manage the compliance program for U.S. Government contracts. The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of experience, with at least 10+ years of directly transferable experience in advising clients on U.S. Government contract matters. Law firm and In-House experience at an aerospace and defense firm is required, as well as in-depth knowledge of the FAR/DFARS contracts requirements unique to contracting with the Government and federal agencies; and experience with U.S. Government Contracting Compliance Programs.
