Assists in protecting an organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. Provides hands-on counsel to all levels of executive staff and manages the operations of legal department. Identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal compliance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Support proposal and bid review process with analysis of contracts for all business units • Resolving in a constructive manner, any issues related to contract disputes • Work closely with members of the executive team as well as various levels of management both internal and external • Improve the company’s internal processes for promoting and ensuring the company’s compliance with the contract administration and contracts • Manage tight deadlines and track all contract activity and information to ensure the integrity of the in-house database system (once developed) • Provide contract reviews and memos to business team
Qualifications and Experience
• Juris Doctorate degree required • Member of the bar and have at least 8 years related combined experience in a law firm and or in-house corporate environment • Superior negotiation and writing and drafting skills. • Strong knowledge of contract risk allocation issues with the ability to analyze specific risk areas such as insurance, terminology, indemnification, etc. • Emphasis on the delivery of superior legal services and internal client satisfaction. • High integrity, strong work ethic, customer-centric and able to handle multiple, simultaneous projects with enthusiasm and attention to detail • Advanced interpersonal, written and persuasive communication skills to effectively develop relationships with a wide variety of audiences • Ability to drive deliverables and influence both internal and external customers in a team setting • Consistently provide useful, constructive legal advice that solves problems and furthers business objectives of the company • Sound legal and business judgment with the ability to make decisions independently • High level of emotional intelligence with proven track record of ability to successfully navigate large projects and complex issues through fast-growth organizations
