Our client is a global application and network services provider. Their technologies assist clients by offering the delivery, security, performance, and availability of servers, web applications, cloud resources, data storage devices, and other networking components.
An opportunity has arisen to join the business in a senior legal counsel role. In this position you will be responsible for supporting the sales side of the business in negotiating and securing new multi-jurisdictional business deals.
You will also have wider responsibility to assist with finance, procurement, marketing and human resources matters. The position offers a high level of responsibility with significant interaction with the executive team; and you will have a high level of visibility (and responsibility) across the business.
To be considered suitable for this position, you will be already Corporate Counsel whose experience is a blend of working in a reputable law firm and in-house (or secondment) which leads you to a role that promotes an opportunity for you to step into ownership of senior level responsibilities. To support you in this role you will already have previous experience assisting sales teams, negotiating and closing IT and telecommunications services deals while ensuring the company’s interests are protected.
Specifically, you will:
Be qualified in England & Wales or another common-law jurisdiction, and have up to 10 years’ post-qualification experience;
Have trained and had some PQE in a City or international law firm;
Have previous in-house experience of providing legal support to sales teams across technology and telecommunications services-related agreements;
Have some experience covering a broader range of legal issues such as GDPR, anti-trust compliance, employee issues, intellectual property, marketing and leasing agreements;
Have a thorough understanding of contract law and customer facing agreements, working in a cloud or software environment along with knowledge of technology transfer, software related agreements and on cloud licensing;
Be confident in your legal expertise and be ready to step straight into this role with limited supervision.
The role is based in Central London. A competitive base salary plus bonus is on offer.
