Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is seeking to hire an experienced Corporate Counsel to assist the General Counsel in the provision of general corporate legal work. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the General Counsel to address various legal questions that arise from time to time with respect to the Company and its funds, affiliates, portfolio managers and employees. This is a dynamic opportunity to also work with local and global executive management and to blend your legal acumen with your desire to get closer to the business.
Review, negotiate and prepare general corporate contracts, including employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, real estate leases, technology agreements and vendor agreements.
Additional responsibilities will include assisting with strategic transactions, private equity transactions, fund documents, investor documents, trading documents and loan documents.
Advise the General Counsel, other members of the legal team and the Company’s leadership (including leaders within compliance, accounting/tax, technology, business development/marketing and HR) with respect to general corporate matters, including interpretations of agreements with the Company’s portfolio managers, corporate governance and regulatory matters.
Work with outside counsel and other advisers on significant legal matters.
J.D. from an accredited law school and admittance to a state bar.
6-10 years of experience with a law firm and/or as in-house counsel (preferably in the financial services and/or family office industries).
Superior legal analysis and drafting skills.
Superior organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding, fast-paced and fluid environment, while maintaining superior attention to detail.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse team of legal and other professionals at all levels.
