Position Title: Paralegal Reports To: General Counsel Appointment Type: Full-Time Schedule and Hours: Regular business hours, varies as necessary
Summary of Position: Provides support to General Counsel to assist in the successful operation of the Legal and Compliance functions of JobsOhio. The Paralegal will do this by developing necessary materials, preparing and maintaining agreements and other documentation as required. Other duties would include but are not limited to preparing and organizing materials related to Board Meetings and supporting the Project Performance Team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Create, organize and maintain non-program agreements of JobsOhio and JOBS; provide support to Corporate Transactions Counsel for same
Prepare and organize materials relating to JobsOhio and JobsOhio Beverage System (“JOBS”) Board Meetings and Corporate Governance:
Assist in preparation of board minutes, resolutions, agendas and other materials for all board meetings of the companies
Scan, file and maintain approved minutes, resolutions and other official records of the Board and the companies
Draft, organize and coordinate legal documents:
Prepare and proofread letters and documentation for General Counsel's signature
Input and maintain legal information in internal cloud-based systems
Run searches, cull relevant information and deliver in appropriate presentation format
Keep information organized by maintaining current filing system and/or establishing and organizing files and documenting actions
Prepare and organize materials relating to General Counsel's standing meetings
Assist in the preparation for and participation in company financial and other audits
Assist and support the Senior Director of Compliance and Project Performance Team as requested by General Counsel
Act at the direction of General Counsel as liaison among various internal departments and outside clients and stakeholders
Perform legal, factual and records research and review and monitor new and updated laws and regulations
Assist in accomplishing organization goals for Legal and Compliance by accepting ownership of tasks and successfully meeting objectives. Explore opportunities to add value to the organization as well as maintain continued education to remain current with the legal field
Manage calendar of the General Counsel related to loan program meetings

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution, and 5-7 years of significant experience within corporate transactions and litigation areas required. Notary commission and knowledge of Lexis/Nexis, Salesforce, Box.com or other cloud-based computer applications is preferred
