Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate opportunity for a Corporate Counsel for a permanent position in Somerset County, NJ.
Overview: An Interim Legal Talent client is looking to hire a Corporate Counsel with proven experience drafting and negotiating contracts.
Company: A unique hospitality company.
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
Experience: 3+ years of prior experience as Corporate Counsel or in the corporate law division of a major law firm.
Location: Somerset County, NJ
Relocation: Local candidates only
Primarily responsible for drafting and managing contract process for all client contracts, and
departmental vendor contracts;
Draft and keep up to date Terms & Conditions and other company policies current with
laws in the jurisdictions in which company does business;
Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and
programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters;
Provide internal legal counsel and advice on a broad range of topics which may include
employment, tax, trademarks, international law, contracts, and corporate governance;
Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for the company;
Work with outside counsel to keep all IP rights up to date;
Provide senior management with legal advice and information regarding risk management and mitigation as needed; and
Assist with any potential or ongoing litigation involving the company.
3+years prior experience as corporate counsel (or in the corporate law division of a major law
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school;
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university;
Admitted to the bar in New Jersey (or able to become licensed as in-house counsel);
Exemplary analytical and written skills, and ability to clearly communicate ideas;
Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts; and
Ability to manage workload and meet short deadlines.
