The Senior Legal Counsel, Americas will be a member of the Americas Law Department at the Global Headquarters for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, serving as a thought leader and partner to Goodyear’s largest strategic business unit, the Americas. The ideal candidate is business-savvy and client-service oriented, takes initiative in creating and improving legal processes, and excels at delivering high-quality, actionable and timely legal advice in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
Counsel Goodyear leadership and other business partners on a wide-range of legal issues impacting the organization and its business objectives.
Structure, draft, review and negotiate distribution, sales and marketing related contracts of various size and scope for clients.
Provide day-to-day legal advice regarding sales, distribution, advertising, marketing, promotions and Goodyear’s brand sponsorships.
Support clients in connection with contract disputes and settlement discussions.
Assist clients with strategic projects relating to new products, services and business models.
Counsel and advise clients on applicable laws and regulations, evaluate and mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with Company policy.
Develop and deliver training to clients on various legal topics and policies.
Assist and coordinate with other attorneys in the Goodyear Law Department as needed.
Required Experience / Education
A Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and a member of the bar (not state specific).
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of general business law experience at a major law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department, including commercial law and wide-ranging contract experience.
Previous legal experience in consumer products, advertising and/or antitrust preferred.
Additional legal experience in the areas of e-commerce, digital marketing, product distribution and retail is a plus.
