Nationally recognized health care company is looking to add a Senior Assistant General Counsel to their team.
Assists the GC and Deputy GC in the development and implementation of legal strategies to support key business objectives
Supervises, including mentorship and development of, junior attorneys and support staff
Selects and retains outside counsel for matters incurred in the ordinary course of business, and assists the GC and Deputy GC in selection and retention for extraordinary matters of critical significance
Manages outside counsel, and/or directly participates as counsel of record, in litigation and all facets thereof
Drafts policies and procedures, manages internal legal investigations and risk assessment
Directly or supervises the research, interpretation and advice regarding medium-high complex federal and state laws, regulations, interpretive guidelines, advisory opinions and court cases related to corporate and health care issues, including but not limited to fraud and abuse, Stark, anti-kickback, HIPAA, confidentiality, and State and federal reimbursement.
Directly or supervises the review and advice related to inquiries/complaints of medium-high complexity from state and federal administrative, regulatory and other governmental or accreditation agencies, including performing necessary research of applicable law and internal practices
Independently lead projects of high corporate significance with minimal direct oversight and direction
Manages transaction documents of medium-high complexity
At least seven (7) years of experience in a law firm or in-house setting, preferably in health law
A J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
A member in good standing of any bar
Eligible to be admitted as authorized in-house counsel in Florida
Experience overseeing attorneys and support staff
Have general business acumen
Excellent research, writing, analytical and organizational skills
