Under limited supervision, provides a variety of legal services. Performs moderately complex legal consultation and handles organization’s legal business matters. Advises on legal, regulatory, and risk management activities as well as government and regulatory compliance.
J.D. degree from an accredited law school; membership in Maryland Bar.
12-15 years practice experience with a firm or in-house, with prior experience in corporate, transactional or regulatory healthcare law, fraud and abuse laws, and/or first chair jury trial experience/health care risk management, is strongly preferred. This position is a hybrid requiring transactional as well as litigation experience.
Ability to draft, review and negotiate various general corporate agreements, such as for vendors, data and software licensing and use, physician transactions, and asset purchases and joint ventures, write briefs and position statements, negotiate settlements and provide general legal advice to the health system clients. Skill in using a computer, Microsoft word, Outlook, Excel, and a variety of personal productivity applications.
Knowledge of health care regulatory issues including fraud and abuse preferred.
