Overview: The Corporate Counsel – Intellectual Property and Licensing will use best efforts to ensure that FOCUS Brands' business practices, policies and actions protect FOCUS Brands' from potential legal liability. This position will attain and maintain an in-depth knowledge of FOCUS Brands' business structure, business practices and strategy, and will understand and be prepared to advise on a the wide variety of legal requirements that apply to the business affairs of FOCUS Brands and its subsidiaries and affiliates, including but not limited to: domestic and international intellectual property law; commercial contracting (e.g., licensing agreements); and digital and traditional marketing, advertising and promotional material review and monitoring.
Company: Through its affiliates, Atlanta-based FOCUS Brands Inc. is the franchisor and operator of over 6,000 ice cream shops, bakeries, restaurants, and cafés in over 50 foreign countries and U.S. territories under the brand names Carvel®, Cinnabon®, Schlotzsky’s®, Moe’s Southwest Grill®, Auntie Anne’s®, McAlister’s Deli® and Jamba Juice, along with Seattle’s Best Coffee® on certain military bases and in certain international markets.
Compensation: Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
Experience: 5+ years of substantial experience in intellectual property, licensing and/or marketing law. 5+ years of experience in a law firm or related business setting. Marketing experience is a plus, especially digital marketing; franchising is also a plus. Bachelor’s degree and J.D. required.
Bar Admission: Member in good standing of a state bar.
