We are seeking a creative and motivated attorney with an expertise in and passion for international trade. This role will provide legal support to all of the Koch companies’ and their diverse international trade needs. We are flexible on location. The right candidate can work out of one of several of our offices: Wichita, KS; Atlanta, GA; Arlington, VA; Chicago or Lisle, IL; or Auburn Hills, MI.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Providing legal advice on international trade topics, with a focus on:
Customs and import issues (such as product classifications, valuation methodologies, country of origin issues, antidumping and countervailing duty issues, Section 337 cases and free trade agreements)
Export issues (such as EAR and ITAR compliance, sanctions, export licensing and deemed export issues)
Other trade-related compliance issues (such as anti-boycott and anti-money laundering)
Be a preferred partner and resource to key stakeholders, including:
Trade compliance professionals within the businesses
Logistics and procurement departments
Assisting on drafting and editing compliance standards addressing international trade issues, as well as training modules on international trade
Assisting with M&A due diligence on international trade matters
Working with government affairs teams to make sure the Koch Companies are up to date on developments regarding trade agreements, such as WTO developments, BREXIT, USMCA, and trade negotiations between the US and China
Business acumen – the ability to develop a keen understanding of customers’ business trade flows and strategies and using that knowledge to offer value-additive solutions that are innovative and forward-thinking

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What You Will Need:
5+ years’ experience specifically in international trade arena (import/export, controlled technology and licensing)
Active member of a state bar in good standing
Ability and flexibility to travel
Not eligible for visa sponsorship

Experience with other areas of international commercial compliance, including anti-boycott, anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, and/or antitrust
