Symplicity is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team as Associate General Counsel. The role will require a strong background in Corporate and/or Commercial law and will be based out of our Arlington, VA headquarters office. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving as the lead attorney on a wide range of legal issues and will be deeply involved in company strategy.

Oversee Contracts function supporting client transactions for Symplicity software and services
Review, draft, and negotiate business transactions and contracts with Symplicity clients, vendors and partners
Advise on other legal matters such as employment, privacy, regulatory compliance, cyber-security and intellectual property
Interact with the sales, marketing and finance teams to understand and ensure consistency with the business and financial requirements in all contracts
Keep abreast of market and regulatory developments to help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Work on corporate transactions such as financings, acquisitions and business development deals
Manage outside counsel and legal budget
Occasional work travel
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
7+ years of relevant legal experience
In-house experience is preferred however we will also consider applicants currently working in a strong corporate and/or transactional law firm practice
The candidate must possess a J.D. from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing in at least one state bar
Experience in any of commercial software contracts, government contracts, corporate and financing transactions or in-house legal practice would be beneficial
Strong business acumen is highly valued; MBA or business degree beneficial
Outstanding organizational, analytical and drafting skills, with attention to detail
Effective at multi-tasking efficiently and ability to prioritize workflow, and ability to adjust workload fluctuations in a fast paced environment
Comfortable and confident in dealing directly with all levels of management
